Lillian and P.T. Nielsen Foundation

The Lillian and P.T. Nielsen Foundation supports Danish art and culture. In 2010 the Foundation has helped the Gallery acquire an important work by Jais Nielsen; his Self Portrait from 1917. The painting hails from Jais Nielsen’s brief Cubist period and is the last in a series of four self-portraits from 1916-1917; paintings that are now regarded as the most important works of his oeuvre. Thanks to the Lillian and P.T. Nielsen Foundation the Gallery has been able to add a new dimension to its collection, strengthening its representation of Jais Nielsen’s paintings.
