Oticon Foundation and the Gallery
When the founder of the hearing aid company Oticon, William Demant, died in 1979, he left an important legacy in the form of the Oticon company and Oticon Foundation. In 2007, the Foundation celebrates its golden anniversary, and still fulfils its mission of contributing financial support to many different causes, including arts and culture.
Exhibitions and art works
Over many years, the Oticon Foundation has contributed to the realisation of a number of exhibitions at the National Gallery of Denmark, some of the most successful of which have been André Derain’s Outsider in French Art and Carl-Henning Pedersen’s A life’s work. The Oticon Foundation has also contributed to the Royal Cast Collection and enabled the National Gallery of Denmark to acquire pioneering artworks.
