Mercedes-Benz and the Gallery

In 1886 the automobile was invented by the founders of Mercedes-Benz, and in 1901 the first commercially available car entered the market. Since then the company has produced cars, vans, lorries, and buses and remains one of the leading car manufacturers today.
Right from the outset Mercedes-Benz has been characterised by a focus on high quality, superior comfort, classic design, and technical innovation – aspects that continue to infuse the brand today with its well-known love of details.
We are very pleased to have partnered with Mercedes-Benz in connection with the concert staged by the music collective Apparatjik at SMK Friday 3 May 2013.

Concert with Apparatjik

The concert format will be soundly challenged when Apparatjik take to the stage at SMK, brimming over with musical and visual effervescence. Fronted by vocalist Jonas Bjerre (Mew), Apparatjik takes an expressive approach, operating somewhere in the field between performance and installation art. The quartet will perform their concert from a specially constructed cube that acts as the catalyst of a spectacular visual show, linking up a wealth of sound and images that embrace the realms of art and popular culture alike – all within the museum setting.
The SMK is very pleased indeed to invite visitors to an evening with Apparatjik. It will be a night to remember, and Mercedes-Benz is among the partners who helped make it happen.
