Pelikan Nordic AB and the Gallery
Pelikan is among Europe's oldest manufacturers of artist materials with a history dating back to 1838 when the chemist Carl Hornemann founded the first colour and ink factory in Hanover. Thanks to a sponsorship from Pelikan Nordic AB, children in the Workshops at the National Gallery also share in this historic success. Daily, children can create their own small and unique works of art with the familiar watercolors and brushes from Pelikan.
Apart from our objective that art should be for everyone - children, youth and adults – Pelikan Nordic AB has contributed specifically to help fulfill the Danish National Gallery’s vision of opening up the museum for all ages. The Workshops at the Danish National Gallery today form the physical framework for a broad range of varied and professional quality services for children and youth who want to develop themselves through active and creative activities at the museum.
