Building the exhibition in a dollhouse
The preparations for the exhibition Hammershøi and Europe are well underway. At present we are outlining the layout and sequence of the exhibition and are hanging works in a 1:20 scale model – a kind of cardboard dollhouse – of the two main exhibition rooms in the western part of the Gallery.
The first person you will "meet" at the exhibition is the central character of the show: The artist Vilhelm Hammershøi, who was born in 1864 and died in 1916. We have always believed that it would be a good idea to begin with him, so the opening painting of the exhibition will be one of his remarkable self-portraits – as is illustrated to the left in this model.
The painting was painted during Ida and Vilhelm Hammershøi’s honeymoon in Paris in 1891.

Jeg skal lave en model af en scene. Og det er den samme måde, som i har gjort der. Hvor kan man få sådan noget lavet??
