The team behind “SMK (the national Gallery of Denmark) Web TV”
The SMK Web TV is produced in a division called “Digital Productions”. This specific division is a part of SMK Digital whose aim is to make the museum one of the leading actors in terms of digital art dissemination. SMK Digital is a relatively new division sponsored by Nordea Fonden during a period of five years from 2008 until 2013. For more information about SMK Digital, press here.
The Digital Production team is a small team of 2-6 persons. The daily leader of the team is Mathilde Schytz Juul. We offer internships to students from educational institutions such as the Danish School of Media and Journalism and universities.
Productions
We produce interviews with artists and curators, artist portraits, videos about research and art shopping, dissemination movies and much else. Often we are also present at events such as Night of Culture, Stella Polaris, Roskilde Festival and many other activities at the museum.
Our digital productions are being used for many different purposes. For example as preparation for a visit at the museum, as inspiration, knowledge search, teaching, delving or entertainment. Some of our videos are also shown on-site at the museum as part of an exhibition.

The values of SMK Digital are based on New Thinking, Accessibility and Sustainability.
At SMK Web TV we find new thinking important. We constantly try to develop and rethink our ways to disseminate art through the channel of Web TV. We also do our most to make the productions accessible in every way, meaning a great focus on both technique as well as content. Furthermore we seek at SMK Web TV to obtain a high level of sustainability and quality in our solutions. We wish to make our products contribute in a positive way to encourage the users in their desire for knowledge about art. We hope that our productions will be a benefit and bring joy and inspiration for most possible people.
