Art works as donations to the National Gallery of Denmark

The National Gallery of Denmark is making a major effort to secure our artistic cultural heritage for the future by taking action in the present. The museum is therefore extremely grateful to receive many significant donations and bequests. Enjoyment can be tracked historically as well as among current visitors, who are able to discover a multi-faceted art collection encompassing a variety of different modes of expression and form.

Taxation provitions provide tax advantages
The National Gallery of Denmark is Denmark’s national museum and the primary museum for Danish and foreign art predominantly relating to western cultural trends from the 14th century onwards. Cultural heritage is therefore our foundation, and we are protecting and conserving it for future generations. In our role as a modern cultural institution, it is also especially important to incorporate contemporary society into cultural heritage – a heritage that belongs to us all. Without the many donations of works, the Gallery quite simply would not be able to offer such a multi-faceted and representative selection of art works of the highest quality.
The museum is therefore extremely grateful to receive many significant donations and bequests. Taxation provisions which came into effect on 1 January 2005 provide tax advantages for donors.

We also would like to point out that the Gallery reserves the right to decline gifts.
