Research

SMK Art Journal

SMK Art Journal is the museum’s research journal. Here, Danish and international researchers write about Danish and foreign art in Denmark.

The journal takes its point of departure in art with particular relevance to the SMK. In this way the articles reflect the sheer range of the museum collections and of current art historical theory and research.

All texts are peer-reviewed, which helps ensure that the SMK meets the new and stricter demands applying to art history research published in professional forums.

New joint research journal
Over the course of 2014 the SMK Art Journal will be replaced by a shared online research journal for art museums in Denmark.

This new initiative is intended to accommodate the need for a peer-reviewed journal that offers a more visible, high-profile presentation of the research arising out of Danish art museums’ collections and practice. The first issue of the journal will be advertised on this page and elsewhere.
