Motionless flowers on strips of artificial grass. A red house, oozing cosiness, shines in the dark. A fallen tree has struck the house and abruptly interrupts the humorous and caricatured idyll.
The young Norwegian artist Fredrik Raddum (b. 1973) puts disaster in display and knocks down romantic clichés about nature in x-rummet. With the installation "HOME SWEET HOME", which mimics the world of the comic with bright colours, simple shapes and a conscious artificiality of expression, Raddum confronted the idea about the close connection between man and nature. Especially the relationship between man and nature is a pivotal point in Fredrik Raddum’s art.
