Join us for an artist talk with curator Hilde de Bruijn and artist Ferdinand Ahm Krag. The conversation finds it starting point in Asger Jorn´s text What is an Ornament? from 1948.
In this text Jorn clearly testifies of his essentially materialist(ic) approach and states that that ornamentation is "the grammar of substance", "the geometry of life" itself.
From here, you are invited to take join us in our leap into contemporary thinking on materialism and to speculate about potential future scenarios for ornamentation.
Ferdinand Ahm Krag is an artist based in Copenhagen.
Hilde de Bruijn (Amsterdam) is a freelance curator and a curator at the Cobra Museum, Amstelveen, The Netherlands.
