Politics, geometry and un-realities
FOCUS ON – Danish and International Art after 1900 puts particular emphasis on Danish art as it addresses six overall themes: Painterly Visions, The Political Body, Geometry and Construction, Figure and Expressivity, Un-Realities, and Idea and Material.
The works on display were created during different historical periods and on the basis of different artistic points of departure, but the artists all shared an interest in similar subjects and aesthetic devices – or took identical approaches to materials and compositions. Thus, the exhibition allows us to explore fundamental themes and aesthetic approaches that have interested artists from 1900 to the present day.
In the exhibition you can experience art works by Kirsten Justesen, Per Kirkeby, Wilhelm Freddie, Michael Kvium, Asger Jorn and Tal R.
