Taking photographs at the SMK

Capture your SMK experience on camera – and immortalise your visit. You are welcome to take photographs throughout the entire museum as long as you follow a few simple rules.

You are very welcome to take photographs at the SMK. However, you cannot use a tripod, flash photography or lighting equipment. Please note that when you take pictures of relatively recent works of art, copyright rules state that you may only use your pictures privately. Copyright rules dictate that artists must have been dead for 70 years or more before their work passes into the public domain.

Look for events

The SMK regularly hosts concerts, guided tours, SMK Fridays and other highly photogenic events.
