The National Gallery of Denmark offers many feasts for the eyes in its rich collection of Danish and international world art – these riches are very much the result of the generosity and visionary initiatives of enterprises, foundations, and private benefactors.

Art for future generations, too
Donations and sponsorships not only contribute to expanding and improving the general population’s access to the arts. Support for the National Gallery of Denmark also helps ensure that future generations, too, can experience and appreciate art history and Danish art through the ages. Today, the Gallery receives funds via the State Budget; these funds cover the fixed cost of operating the Gallery.

A museum for everyone
Developments and innovation in the Gallery’s work is to a very great extent only made possible by generous contributions from enterprises, foundations, and private benefactors. Their help ensures the Gallery’s continued ability to be a major art museum for the benefit of all.

Legislation means new benefits
Tax legislation in Denmark means that individual persons and enterprises can deduct the value of artworks donated to cultural institutions, and that enterprises can deduct the value of monetary gifts to cultural institutions.
